WINE-O-FILE
-
Hot off the
Vine
I hope by now you've gotten an email from us about our Bordeaux
event (not an email recipient? Sign up on our home page and we'll
inundate you with meaningless drivel
send you the occasional bit of information on sales, events,
etc.)
Here's the plan: Thursday,
August 20th, we're going to have Joanne, the Sales Rep
from our best Bordeaux supplier, instore from 5-8 PM with the book
for her entire portfolio- You'll be able to look at her wines, talk
with Joanne (and me) about them and order them by the case @ 25%
above our cost. It's a good way for you to become aware of many more
wines than we can carry on our shelves, and Joanne is a great
resource on Bordeaux in particular and wine in general- she'll be
great to talk to- she knows her hidden gems!
Cellar
Notes
We're
trying to clear the decks for the 4th quarter, so look
for the yellow tags- there are great deals behind them, often of
ends-of-vintage or deeply discounted wines we've gotten as a
one-time deal. Take advantage of our buying acumen and Stu's desire
to reduce our inventory so I can go hog-wild spending his money in
September (I'm looking forward to it!)
Wine-O-File Datebook
August is a
slow month for tastings etc.- We're all getting ready for the influx
of new Fall releases, deals offered to us, and that turn in the
weather that brings everybody back to wine after a Summer full of
cold and golden beer (now I'm thirsty!)
Anyhow, the big deal this
month is the Bordeaux Sale I talked about above-Here it is formally
presented in the Wine-o-File Datebook, so that you have an archival
copy:
August 20 (Thursday)
5-8 PM- “Bordeaux To Go” come in and order directly from the
supplier- anything from First Growths to simple Bordeaux (my bet is
we could get Joanne to sell us stuff from the rest of her book also-
Hey, we're all here, the book is open, what could be the harm?)
